In the Netherlands, a nominated driver is called ‘the bob’.
Dutch broadcaster Veronica make a programme called ‘De Bob’ where two well-known young presenters play taxi drivers working the weekend night shift.
From their position behind the wheel, they talk to their clients; young people out for the night, celebrities and people who have been working the night shift.
The taxi, which plays a leading role in the programme, has been fitted out with tiny HD cameras by United.
Recording is made directly in terra-bites on Sound Devices hard disc recorders. Given that it is shot at night time, lighting is needed, so small LED lights have been fitted to the roof and sides of the taxi.
The technical team travel in an ENG car behind the taxi and follow events at a distance, using video and audio channels.
