On the 26th April and the 6th of May this year, Euro Media France made its technical equipment available to the presidential elections; an historic event that many French people followed closely, live on television.
As for every occasion, EMF provided to its clients, a collection of professionals with recognised abilities and know-how, particularly in terms of RF.
For BFM TV, EMF provided the whole fleet of bikes in Paris during the first and second rounds of the elections. Thanks to the aerial relays put into place by the RF teams all of the bikes in the fleet could transmit images from the different HQs in Paris. One of the most memorable occasions was the following of Nicolas Sarkozy’s car on the Place de la Concorde and Boulevard Saint Germain on the first evening.
For TF1, our bikes were in the rues de Tulle, home of François Hollande, on the 6th May for the whole evening right up to accompanying him on his way back to the airport on the evening of his victory.
S-TV, (subsidiary of EMF) was called upon by TF1 during the second round for its SNG cars:
- OB truck XS1 (F43) and the team led by Pascal Greffier used 4 HD cameras (of which 3 were RF) in Tulle during the first round; a fifth camera was added for the second round.
- OB truck XS2 (F188) was in Paris at Nicolas Sarkozy’s HQ for the duplex transmission the first Sunday and in Solférino at the headquarters for the Socialist Party on the 6th May.
After the sets and the OB trucks used for the multiple televised debates and meetings, the SNG trucks and the EMF bikes ensured that the last few hours of the presidential elections were carefully followed with an unrivalled audio and visual quality.
Thank you to the teams of technicians for their responsiveness and the meticulous work that they did throughout the whole of the presidential campaign.
